The 3 dimensions of pain, does your Doctor ask you about this?

To better select the med most beneficial, three dimensions of pain have been established to classify yours.

When I visit the , I answer an even more detailed questionnaire about what type of pain I am experiencing, do you?

PAROXYSMAL PAIN - sharp, shooting, radiating, hot, electrical.

SUPERFICIAL PAIN - tingling, numb, itchy, sensitive, cold.

DEEP PAIN - heavy, throbbing, cramping, dull.

Unfortunately, I have them all.

You and me both SK…! :frowning:

No doc never asks...And I have them all too :) I get a generic pic of a human body and told to "shade" pain spots. By the time I'm done whole thing is nearly colored in! but no reference to 'types'. Thank you for the info

Me too, I don't like those. My DC still used them, especially if I have not been there in a while! I can understand that he needs this though. He knows my body better than anyone, but bodies change! He also requires regular x-rays and/or MRIs. He gives me the very best info on explaining the findings too!

I am very fortunate to have the Doctors that I do!

laura, I give you so much credit for continuing to work! Don't know how you still do it! Guess you do it because you have to!

Take good care of yourself!

SK… If one more doctor asks me to describe my pain I’m going to scream. lol I see an LLMD and pain specialist … Every time I’m asked to describe the pain and they use your three dimensions of pain descriptions. I still find myself having trouble just picking one Can we come up with one that states" hurts everywhere" lol

Hope all is getting better for you. I’m still trying to find the right pain Meds to assist me during hexing. It seems nothing helps fully. May I ask you what you have found useful?

Thank you for posting all the great discussions that you do. They help me out a lot !!
