Need CT Lyme Specialist

I am at my wits end and exhausted. I tested positive for Lyme and have been on Doxycyline for 17 days, yet I feel worse each day. My PC told me to wait 5 more days to finish the Doxy.

I have been to my PC, neurologists, 3 orthopedics, physiatrists, etc....no one has been able to find out if my symptoms are related.to the lyme, yet I am getting worse instead of better. I have spent soooo much on copays, deductibles, testing etc.

I called a "Lyme" specialist doctor today in Wilton, CT to make an appt and the 1st consultation is $1,075.00 and each additional visit is $500!!! Does not take insurance. Needless to say, I feel so defeated, depressed etc. My summer has been wasted battling this disease since about April with no relief in sight.

Does anyone know a specialist in CT that 1. either takes insurance or 2. can sympathize with Lyme suffers rather than gouge them with outrageous office fees???

Yikes!!!LANespoli, you are going down a dark rabbit hole over there.

Your PC gave you good advice. It takes time to recover, more treatment isn't better treatment.

BTW how were you tested?

Blood test. I'm almost done with the doxy and feel worse. The muscle twitching is making me crazy along w the exhaustion.

Dark rabbit hole meaning its hopeless?
