I have now been on doxy for almost 6 weeks. At 6 weeks, I’m done. I’m also scared. Although my inflamation is so much better, my rashes too, I have developed major numbness and tingling in my hands, feet and sometimes face along with burning across my upper back. I also have neck and back pain. Saw neuro, he listened, did an exam and told me I’m losing nerve conductivity in my right foot. EMG coming.
I’m exhausted and have actually become a house person which I never was. No evening plans because I can’t do it.
Hello Foggy,
I know how this is. Good name choice. lol
I was on doxy for over a year. It knocked out my Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I had many of the same symptoms you have mentioned in your discussion. A lot of them had subsided after that course of treatment. Many are still here though just not as bad as they were. I am also being treated for numerous other co infections of Lyme as well. Currently I am receiving Infusion Therapy with Rocephin 2000mg, daily with a PICC Line at the local hosptial. Once Medicare quits paying after 8 weeks I will begin treatment at home. There are numerous other drugs I am taking as well: propranolol, diazapan, nystantin liquid, cymbalta, natural synthroid, the new one in place of vicodin (can't remember the name), celexa, and a few others. Can't remember off hand plus all of my supplements.
Being a house person is not easy, especially when you have never been one before. If you were a housewife/mom most of the time it is still not the same because you are still not able to function that way either. It seems Lyme has no boundaries as far as what it takes from you. I do hope you find that you will gain some thing back. As I said, some of my problems are gone, some are less sever, and many are so bad. Whatever the case. Lyme takes and tries not to give anything back. Keep on fighting!!!!
