Why is exercise bad? Doesn’t it help rid the body of toxins? I love to exercise when I feel up to it. What happens that makes you feel worse?
Thank you for this comprehensive info dkel. I use resistance exercise...like resistance bands just to keep strength up without stressing my heart. Rheumatologist says swimming is the best for fibromyalgia, I think a light swim could work for Lymies too...
I know what you mean, Hope. I used to play all kinds of sports and exercise and run all over the place and it never bothered me. But now I can't do any of that anymore. If I try to exercise my pain level goes sky high. Eventually I think we will all be able to exercise again once we get better. Having lyme and exercising just don't mix well. I can handle a short walk and that's all. You can also exercise by stretching. My doctor told me to stretch for 10 minutes every morning, but to be careful and make sure I don't overdue it. Sometimes it feels good and other times it just intensifies the pain. You just have to find a balance.
