I just got a new job and one of the hiring requirements is to take a TB test. I’ve done my research and read that many people with Lyme have had poor reactions to the test. Has anyone had any reactions or is it safe to take that test? I have been off antibiotics since July 20th 2018 and am feeling well, I don’t want to do anything to compromise it. Is there another way to test that is safer for Lyme patients?
I believe the actual issue is that b/c you have had lyme you are more likely to have a false positive on a TB test. The only way to avoid a false positive is to forego the skin test and injection test and get a chest x-ray.
