Not Feeling Too Well Right Now

Hey Guys,

So, I have been pretty lucky so far in my Lyme treatments in that I have tolerated my antibiotic/supplement regimen without too much trouble from it in terms of stomach upset, nausea, or other negative side effects. Well, my luck has officially run out. I started feeling a lot of stomach upset & nausea over this past weekend, but it had calmed down for the last couple days. It reared its head again today though and I feel like crap again.

I am really nervous about some changes that are coming up tomorrow with my regimen...I am doubling my dose of Cleocin and I am adding the first dose of Cipro. It will bring my current regimen to: Nystatin (500,000 UNIT twice daily), Plaquenil (400 mg), Doxycycline (200 mg), Cleocin (1,200 mg), Cipro (500 mg). I already feel like crap on the regimen that I'm on right now and I am not sure how to handle these symptoms with all of these additional antibiotics coming on board. I did pick up the VSL #3 probiotic to add to my supplement regimen, and I'm open to more ideas.

I did call my LLMD to let him know that I've been feeling really sick to my stomach & nauseated and I asked him if I should proceed as planned tomorrow with adding the additional antibiotics. His response was very noncommittal and answered nothing. I am going to proceed as planned since he didn't seem very concerned at all with my stomach issues or nausea. I see him on Tuesday, so I am planning to just try & deal with the issues as best as I can until I meet with him. I really hope that it doesn't get too much worse though, I am pretty miserable right now. I'd really appreciate any input or advice you guys might be able to provide.

Thanks,

Megan

Hi Megan.

One of the things my Dr insisted I take is a Probiotic 500Billion or more. That helps with the Flora and keeps things calmer. I also asked if I could take an antinauseant like “Gravol” and he said yes.

I hope you feel better soon
Warmly
Karen

Hey Megan,

Been thinking about you. How are you doing this week? Hope you are having a good day...

Dear mdh...

I have little to help except encouragement.

So far, I guess I'm one of the luck ones. even though it is years since I was infected. I have managed to keep my job and home.

I only took one month of oral antibiotics and had such a herxing reaction that he took me off them entirely. I'm sort of back to my baseline but have wondered a lot about the use of long term antibiotics.

There is no question that no probiotic can replace all the flora killed by antibiotics in your gut. And no one knows the effects of losing that flora. Only that even the mainstream medical community is now admitting that 70% of your immune function is in the gut.
