How do I know if it is the Lyme or something else?

I have had strange symptoms for the past six months - I was recently diagnosed with Lyme and I am on a 3-week course of antibiotics. Still very fatigued. One of the issues I have had is figuring out if some of my ongoing symptoms are Lyme or something else. THe one that causes me the most stress is chest pain - I am sure you can imagine what ongoing left side chest pain can cause me! I had a work-up done in March and all was fine with my heart but I am alarmed every time I get the pain there....that, and my head/ears.....so stressful!

My doc seems prettt Lyme aware and hss already mentioned may need to look at confections. I had a bullseye rash on my inner thigh in April but didn’t think Lyme because it was a bruise and not a red rash. Now i am reading it can resemble a bruise. I also had positive Lyme titers. I am losing hair, have chest pain, high pulse…thought I was losing my mind before the diagnosis. My anxiety also sky-rocketed!

My having Lyme so long with our symptoms caused it to effect other organs and creating other problems that needed addressing at the same time so maybe a thurough blood work up would be helpful. Maybe you already did this. Mine was able to show thyroid problems. That added a whole mess of other symptoms that were not typical Lyme (if there is such a thing as typical) but the Lyme messed up my immune system causing hashimotos which would not necessarily be helped with the Lyme treatment, in fact it made it worse for awhile. I also got chest pains. I believe having acupuncture support during treatments really helped that if you haven’t tried it yet. Good luck and understand the anxiety that comes with pains popping up and trying to pinpoint why they are there.
