There's an art to living and coping with chronic illness. It takes persistence and creativity sometimes not to overfocus on the negative. One way to cope is to stop and take note of every positive experience, even if that experience is just for a moment. Finding a new flower in the garden. Seeing a rainbow. Sipping coffee (even if it's decaf.) Having a surprise visitor.

I tend to be the happiest when my kids are happy, It is such a joy to see them enjoy their youth- playing with friends or even doing homework...to them life is a grind but I know how easy they have it! Nothing makes me happier than to hear them laugh heartily. I also enjoy spending time with other family members- as the oldest of six kids I have a lot of nieces and nephews who all bring joy to life.
I absolutely love the holiday season and looking forward to the chilly air, the music, the food, and the lights in the city.
Finally, I enjoy spending time with my husband. He works for several months in the year away from home so I find a lot of joy just spending time with him.
I am proud of you for consciously bringing light and happiness to your family. when we are chronically ill and not looking the best all the time I think it means a lot to them when we have positive attitudes and especially when we are able to find joy in life. Laughter is truly infectious!
The other day one of my sons was in a funk and seemed down. So I emptied an entire can of silly string all over him...in the house and all. He laughed really hard as I sprayed him down...it was a great ice breaker for all of us!
Thank you for sharing these dkel! I am especially proud of you for attending your son's tennis match. Runner up is a great earn! Also am glad to see Debbie Gibson has turned a corner...give us all hope
That is great news David! I am so happy to learn that it does indeed seem you are making progress. I struggle with the thought of never getting better, or of how we would test for improvement, and your story gives me some hope, so thank you.
