Can you get Lyme Disease from a Mosquito Bite ?
I don't remember ever having a TICK on me .
But was bitten by quite a few mosquitos and had a red rash at bite .
I know mosquitos carry West Nile Virus , why not Lyme !
The only other way I mite have contracted Lyme is
I deer hunt and wear field dressing gloves when I gutted a deer and nicked my self with knife and deer blood got in to cut and the deer had Lyme.
Let Me Know Your Thoughts ! Thanks
According to the CDC:
There is no credible evidence that Lyme disease can be transmitted through air, food, water, or from the bites of mosquitoes, flies, fleas, or lice.
It goes beyond that even. Experimental and epidemiological studies have shown that Ixodes scapularis and Ixodes pacificus are the only tick species in North America that are capable of transmitting B. burgdorferi, the spirochete that causes Lyme disease, to humans even though it has been found in others.
You can't get it from deer either. BUT it is possible that larval tick, that you may not have even noticed the bite could be the source.
